Search Engine Optimisation
“How do I make my website appear at the
top of Google's search results?”
This is a question that I am being asked on a weekly basis. The short answer is very simple. "Make Google think you website is the best result to show". Achieving this can be quite easy in some cases.
For example: In one of our first optimisation projects, several years ago we optimised a website for Prime Accounting. www.primeaccounting.com.au. If you search for "bookkeeper brookvale" today, you will still find them sitting close to if not at the top of the list. Obviously in many cases it can be more difficult.

Best of the web
I am constantly updating my "favourites" list with interesting and useful websites. Many of them because I think they will be useful to one or more of our clients. Here's a few of my latest findings.
IGoogle
This is one of my favourite things at the moment. IGoogle is like a personalised newspaper. For example, my IGoogle page shows me:
- Weather in Sydney
- Latest News items from around the world,
- Latest National News stories
- Latest Sport headlines from FOX
- NASA image of the day
- Latest headlines from New Scientist
- Various website and SEO online magazine headlines
There are about a million other things to choose from. Definitely worth 10 minutes to set up.

This site is for small business and sole traders. It has a lot of useful articles, quick and easy to read. I have found the "Work smarter" section particularly interesting.
Calculate your Carbon Footprint
This is a great little calculator to give you a rough idea about what your business would need to spend to become carbon neutral.
Hosting server upgrades
Earlier this year our hosting servers where upgraded with new hardware and a new management system. As well as faster webpage load times and more reliable email delivery, which we are already enjoying, we are rolling out a series of new customer service functions. Among other things this will include an online support ticketing system, and online payment and ordering facilities. We will update you as new functions become available.
