This immediately gives your business two great opportunities to promote itself. Firstly, when a Facebook Places user signs in to somewhere in your area, and secondly, when they automatically tell all their frie4nds that they just signed in to your place. It's easy to get your business listed on Facebook Places. Just get the Facebook application, go to your office or store and from the Places menu, click “Sign In”. You can then create a new location and fill it with information about your business. Even if you don't have an iPhone, just ask a friend who does to come and create your location for you or you can sign using your existing Facebook account by following this link: http://touch.facebook.com/ Facebook Places just started a week or two ago, and it has a long way to go to catch up to Foursquare. (which is a similar thing but has been around for a year or two.) But I'm confident that with the number of users on the Facebook system this platform will develop quickly. It won't be long before you can add special offers and incentives to people who sign in to your Facebook Place, and linking the place to your Facebook page is almost certainly the next step from Facebook. If you need any help getting started on Facebook, whether it's Facebook Places, or a customised Facebook Page, send us an email or call us on 9907 3136. |
