Building your website
Depending on the exact nature of the website you have ordered with Boyd Design, the process from initial breifing to going "live" takes approximately 2 - 8 weks.
Stage 1. Briefing
The first stage of your website project involves completing the briefing form on our website. This form allows you to give our designers all the information they will need to create a design that you will be happy with. Note: It is very important to complete this form carefully. Our art director will call you to clarify any points in your brief, or if you would prefer a face to face meeting, this option is available by appointment at the Boyd Design office. (1st floor, 475 Pittwater Rd. Brookvale, NSW)
Stage 2. Establish “Look and feel”
A “mock-up” of your site will be developed based on the information in your brief. Initially you will be presented with one concept design for the front page of your website. If this design is close, we will continue to revise that design until you are happy with it. If the initial concept is not suitable, we will create a new concept. Please check your quote for the exact number of allowed changes.
The “Look and feel” stage is complete when your design is approved.
Stage 3. Build Website and insert content
Using the approved design from Stage 1, the HTML code of your website is written. The navigation menus are built and a functional page is created. Your content is then inserted into the various pages of your website. All pages will be built using the approved design.
Content should be supplied in Word format, separated into specific website pages. If you require help with assembling your content, Boyd Design can arrange copywriting for you. Or you can download our website content Word Template as a guide. (This is a simple Word document designed to help you assemble content for your website.)
Each page can contain 1 image (or a total of 10 for the site) and 250 words per page (or a total of 2500). Two tables are also included in this package, (max. 5 x 5). Additional tables or complicated lists or word structures may incur additional charges.

Please note: Content for your website must be supplied once, with all proofing completed. Any modifications to the text (including spelling corrections) after it has been placed into your website (other than errors or omissions made by Boyd Design) will incur further charges without exceptions.

Stage 4. Final review
Once the website content has been inserted, your site will be published in a secure area for proofing purposes. This is your opportunity to make final changes to text layout and presentation (i.e. text and heading sizes, text colour, table styles etc.)
This stage will also see any forms, systems or software testing to ensure that all elements of your website are functioning properly.
Stage 5. Upload and email set up
If you are hosting with Boyd Design we will show you how to set up your first two email accounts through your website control panel. The Boyd Design website contains comprehensive instructions on how to use this function as well as the many other functions included in all of our hosting plans. These include visitor statistics, email auto responders, email forwarders and much more.
Once your website is approved and final payment made, your site will be uploaded and published. At this point your site will also be ready to be submitted to Google and other search engines.
Other important information
Search engines: Your website will be programmed to be easily read and indexed by search engines. However, this package does not include any "Search Engine Optimisation" and does not offer any guarantees as to when and where your site will be ranked.
